Driving WIth Handphone Off

Today's news stated that government planning to impose the new rule that handphone is totally banned during driving because this will cause distraction to drivers.

They also said some countries already imposed such rule, and we are now following their footstep. Do you think this is a good idea? Can this really cut down accident rate in our country?

First to totally ban the use of handphone during driving may be a good idea, but haven't they make a good study of how many cases really cause by the use of handphone?

Imagine if earphone or loudspeaker can't be use during driving, then what if there's an emergency call? For some I guess they must be in the driving seat long hours per day eg sales person, drivers etc. How are they going to make a living if handphone is banned during driving?

I can't imagine if all drivers with handphone stop at the emergency lane to just answering calls. This will surely cause another problem like traffic jam, accident due to lack of concentration etc.

This government may be broke they do not have enough money to pay bonuses to policemen, so they are, as usual created another law to just let these MATA have more side income.
