BAM Screw Up Yet Again

Now we should know why our Badminton can't progress far these days. Recently Double head coach, Rexy Mainakey voiced out his displeasure about BAM, and by looking at the history of BAM, it is not diffucult to understand why he has such feeling.

First BAM didn't inform Rexy anything of the appointment of Tan Kim Her. BAM maybe thinks it's their authority to appoint anyone and it's no need to inform anyone including the head coach. Secondly BAM maybe thinking Rexy has done his job in bringing up enough double players, and they are ready to dislodge him because of his high salary etc, and that our own local coaches can handle from there on.

From the 90s of Yang Yang, Han Jian, Fang Kaixiangm thru to Park Joo Bong, Morten Frost and Li Mao, which one of these foreign coaches really lasted long with BAM? They are all being terminated their contract, not resigned. So BAM thinks we are Malaysia and we should be coach by Malaysian. Foreign coaches' job is to find new talents, and it's all job done.

Does anyone here really thinks our own coaches of Rosman Razak, Tan Kim Her, Yap Kim Hock and co can bring our shuttlers forward and win the next Olympic gold? Just see what Misbun, Wong Tat Meng, and others bring and you will find the answer. I'm not saying foreign coaches are better than our own, but longetivity is more important, and when you have such a strong group of coaches around, it will help continuity.

So after all these years, I'm really sick and tired of these BAM politics within. That's why I never like Malaysian Badminton since they discarded foreign coaches after winning the 1992 Thomas Cup. I can bet my life that Malaysia will never win the Thomas Cup again if they persist in this manner.

Take my word for it.
