It's been few years since last time an English team fail to qualify to the Semi-Finals of champions' league. This year English teams is facing difficult tasks ahead of them and they have mountain to climb to advance to the semi finals.
Tonight Arsenal face probably the strongest of them all - Barcelona, let alone at Nou Camp. Barcelona only lost once this year at their own turf and that's the first game of Champions' League I guess. Since then they score probably more goals than anyone else at home and letting in fewest among them.
So can Arsenal turn the table around? Don't forget that Barcelona still have 2 away goals to take into their account. Arsenal must at least score 2 goals to stand any chance of progressing further. I don't think Barcelona will defend from the start because they misses their 2 centre backs to suspension.
Arsenal have the problem of their own, and it's only their determination can take them further I think. So Barcelona will surely have a go at them from the moment whistle blown till the very last kick of the game to make sure Arsenal is playing the chasing games all round.
Tomorrow we will see the clash of the titans - English giant Man Utd and German giant Bayern Munich. These two old foes faces each other numerous times, and Man Utd only beaten them once - the ever epic finals of 1999. Other than that Man Utd has not beaten their old rivals.
This is probably due to the technicallity of both teams. Bayern Munich's style of play is well known to be efficient, which is to the dislike of English teams. I think Man Utd will again facing an uphill tasks of containing their attackers like Frank Riberry, Arjen Robben, Olic, Klose etc.
While Man Utd may field Wayne Rooney, but I would still prefer a fully fit player in the place of Mr. Rooney and Man Utd is known for their team play, not individual plays. So if Man Utd stick to their own plans, I think they still stands a little chance of advancing.
So let's wait to see if these 2 games turn out to be full of fireworks or a dull games.
