Another Hope Another Dissapointment

Probably we've been used to this scenario, but I really truely give up on our sportsmen's performance in big tournaments.

Before 8th of August, we all have a high hope that this will be the year we could finally have a go at an Olympic Game's gold medal. Yet after so many athletes sent there, we are now left with one - Lee Chong Wei.

Last night's game between Koo KK-Tan BH against world champion of Markis and partner is a big dissapointment for all Malaysians. Before the games this young guns are in the slump of their form, and after some closed door session training they left the country with full of confident and given us so much hope that they are back to their best!

What we witness last night is totally contrasting, just like Pak Lah. They do exactly the opposite to what they said. Maybe this is the effect of them helping some campaign for BN after they won the 2007 All England Open and Swiss Open tourney.

The same goes to Choong TF-Lee WW. They too left KLIA full of confidence of salvaging something for the country, and they are the earliest casualties to their old foes. Probably we're expecting too much from them, but this is their last Olympic, and it only comes once every 4 years. Maybe the result will prompt national double coach, Rexy Mainaky to totally give up on the young and prospective pair, as do Yap Kim Hock.

Now what's left for us is just merely a hope. I sincerely hope Lee CW would do us justice by at least qualify to the Olympic finals, or else I would truely given up on Badminton sports once and for all. No point for supporting something always give dissapointment!

So question here is: Is there anyone seriously can turn this around? Why other country can produce a long term season winning players, whereas Malaysian will always be that short moment of success? Is it time to revaluating the national sport structure setup for the future? Except for bowling and squash, I seriously don't see anything else would excel in world sport stages. Maybe, just maybe government is the main issue here for the slump of Malaysia's sports standard!

would you rather have them leaving the country with little confidence then? your thinking is rather crooked in a way. if you were going into a competition, shouldn't you have confidence to go in? say you represent malaysia in an olympics games and leave the country with such low confidence, telling the country "i don't think i'll get a medal for you guys". what would people think of you as an athlete? you wouldn't even be worthy of holding the title ATHLETE or REPRESENTATIVE because of your low self-esteem. this actually makes me think that you're the kind of person who does something half-heartedly. it's not the kind of citizens we need in malaysia! if we give up supporting them, do you even think we'd actually have the chance to enter the olympics (if you get what i mean)?

hmmm, that's probably because we need more people who would actually want to go through the tough training sessions to be on top! probably YOU could try it since you're dissing them so much. i know you're disappointed, so am i, but people with an attitude like yours may as well be the reason why malaysia isn't as good as you'd want it to be. i'm sure you get what i mean, i-know-what-you-think!

also, regarding the post titled same old story! it's true, u're telling a fact! and yes, lee chong wei DID do very badly in my opinion. they had the upper hand but we shouldn't give excuses as to why we lost so badly. however,we shouldn't dissing the players, especially lee chong wei! he did his very best! nerves got into his way, no doubt about that! carrying the burden of beating the world no 1, trying to get the 1st ever gold medal for malaysia and all.. who wouldn't feel pressured and nervous? yes, he's probably mentally weak but who are you to judge our athletes? i mean, seriously! if you're so good, why don't you take his place? GO! go represent malaysia! bring us glory! i agree, we are weak to a certain extent. but lee chong wei proved to be strong enough till the finals. malaysia is the 2nd best most of the time because of people like you who diss others instead of improving their own bad qualities!

hey, if you're so brave, why didn't you enable the comment feature for same old story? i do pity people like you sometimes.
