Independency of ACA

PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said the government will give more independency to ACA to investigating cases. Does it mean all the while ACA has been controlled by the government watchdogs? Are they carrying out investigation on government's advises and not done so fairly to the person or party involved?

This shows how intransparent Malaysia government is, and that if things are not going government or their way, they will influence the investigation and outcome of the cases so that it will go as per their wishes. This is worrying and can we really trust them anymore? How transparent will the new reformed group show to public for their investigation? Do people still have confident in them?

It is surprisingly that the PM said we 'will' follow the so call ICAC in Hong Kong in carryout investigation as an independent body. This is suppose to be the independent body to carryout their own work at their own descretion, not influenced by government of whosoever. From what this PM said already indirectly admitted the government has been all along influencing all the cases.

So i think there is still some way to go before the ACA can convince us that they will carryout their duties without the external influence.

Well, at least right now the government is correcting their mistakes. Let's see how everything turns out to be. =)
