Pak Lah already announced he would steps down as PM in slightly under 2 years time, and during these times, he has already told he would fight against corruption and reform judiciary system.
First if I still remember it correctly, fighting against corruption is the first promise he gave to the nation when he took over, and it's been almost 5 yrs on and it not only not improving, yet getting worst. So do we still believe he can act against corruption in his final 2 yrs? I doubt it very much.
What happened now (ACA arresting and questioning Immigration dept heads etc) may be just a showcast to the nations, to show it to nations they are acting against corruption. There are many more far worse clear cut cases outthere yet action is not being taken against them. Probably immigration dept pay insufficient 'fee' so action is being taken against them.
As for reform of judiciary system, I think it's all death and done deal for Malaysia judiciary systems. There will be no way back for the systems unless there's a total change of panels, personnel, people, government, all and all before it can really be called reformed.
So for Pak Lah's FINAL PLANS, I think it's most likely he's trying to safeguard his own ass just in case if he really steps down comes June 2010. For whoever takes over there'll be hell lot of shits to be clear up by him/her.
