Sedition Charge

It's still early in the morning and from various sources of news, I've seen more and more people that's on the verge of being charge for Sedition, like what Raja Petra Kamaruddin is facing at the moment!

So what is sedition? What act will contribute a person to being charge for sedition? Why government rather spending precious time to prosecuting these "innocents" people than fighting other more important agenda like crimes, corruption etc.

It is kind of funny and hillarious to see people being prosecuted because they criticising government or certain individual. So if people like Bung Mokhtar and some other MPs from BN criticising opposition's MPs, they should face the same charge? Or if they's commented on certain sensitive issue, should they be prosecuted with the similar offence?

No! The answer is no just because they are BN's member, or rather more precise, they are UMNO's members. Even if people from MCA, MIC or Gerakan or other coalition who criticising government, or again more precise UMNO led government, they will face a similar sanction too. Maybe that'sthe reason these coalition party has been keeping mute in the parlimentary proceedings and just take instruction, no question asked!

So is this what we call freedom of speech? RPK just commenting on a case, which is still yet to be concluded, and he's facing the music for something still ongoing, which is wrong. Not sure how to explain but it's something like no one should be prosecuted for an ongoing and yet to conclude case. So all our sympathy goes to RPK and another blogger who is charge with similar offence, and probably many more to come!
