Mohd Hasan, the Petronas CEO told the fuel price hike is not down to Petronas alone, and it's a global thing. This is very true, and I believe Petronas still can't affect the world crude oil prices in anyway. So we can't blame Petronas for causing the fuel price increased, and we must be understanding too.
The real reason people protest against Petronas is because they'd made billions of ringgit from the fuel price increase because they produce crude oil for world supply. Their production is exceeding the nation's demand, and profit made shall be partially subsidise to the citizens so we could enjoy a lower rate, not down to the cheapest by the way. Comparing other oil producing country, Malaysia fuel price is the highest among them in the world, and Badawi still has the gut to tell us we are cheapest than our neighbouring country!
What people is angry with is Petronas has benefited from the fuel price increase, yet they are not helping in reducing citizens' burden. This so call private company is actually control by government and the taxes paid is all gone unaware and into unknown. So when money runs out, it has to be replanished. So who to fill up the empty drawer? We are the one to fill up for them. As to what purpose no one knows. That's why people angry.
Now Mohd Hasan is trying to divert attention from Petronas by avoiding people's calling to disclose their accounts, and they are playing tai chi to say it's been published for the last 18 years. Eh hello! That's the financial report, not accounts. We are demanding for accounts. So don't just fooling around trying to avoid the question asked.
People angry at Petronas because they've made so much from the crude oil price increase, yet they want us to bear the costs increase without them having to subsidise back. Maybe the figure is too huge and attemptation is too great for them to let go part of it! They must be thinking money in our own pocket is better than others. SO they decide to reduce the subsidise on fuel to maximise their "INCOME"!

sir,
financial report contains summary of the accounts, which is more than sufficient details for people to see.
the accounts is in the financial report lah. have you read the financial report or not?
the sell of national crude oil only contributes less than a quarter of petronas overall profit. the tax paid is more than the profit gained from selling crude oil alone.
petronas has refinery plants, gas processing plants, petrochemical plants, property business, shipping business and overseas ventures in over 30 countries.
all profits from this business has been paid to the government. the amount paid has been published and it is up to the government to manage the money. petronas does not manage this tax money. its the government. repeat, its the government.
get your facts right and stop saying bad things about petronas. it is the government who get 65% of petronas profit. it is the government who set petrol price.
but, why petronas, as a business entity and not even a political organization has to give subsidy?
although it is not petronas responsibility, petronas still subsidized malaysian electricity. 50 billion is not a small number, and still people does not see this.
so, stop blaming petronas. blame the stupid government and its sleepyhead prime minister.
thanks.
Dear Bro Sayuti,
Thanks and your comments noted. I am blaming the government, and I think what's been said is to divert attention from all this fuel price increase now. We all know crude oil price keep rising and it's inevitable petrol price will go up as well.
It's the way they increase the fuel price, not the increase of price that annoyed the people I think.
Again thanks for sharing info, and would love to know and understand more about what's actually going on within the government and organisations related.
PETRONAS gave the money to the people through the government that was elected by the people. Last year alone, PETRONAS has paid more than RM40 billion to the government as shown in their accounts. If the money does not reach or channeled to the people, who do you blame, PETRONAS or the government?
