Proton to Wed in 5 years Time

Today's news says that Proton will be partnering a foreign Car manufacturer in 5 years time. We must congratulate them in with such confident that they will find a suitable partner, just like they'd been negotiating with Volks Wagon. It will be good that Proton can finally find a partner to make the car more competible and more reliable, improvement on the durability, quality so and so forth.

But the big question being ask is are they willing to let foreign partner take control of Proton's administration? Are they willing to listen to someone rather than being decision makers themselve? Can they drop their ego and let others bring Proton's development forward? And most importantly, are they ready to accept criticisms?

All the above answer is NO! They can't let foreigners take control of our "MALAYSIAN" car! They must at least have some say in decision making. They must not be the one at fault should anything happen because they can never go wrong. Ego is what makes them and they can't afford to drop it or they'll be death! On criticisms, only those who's jealous of Proton's success would do so because there shouldn't be any fault in their management or products.

It just make me laugh when last time out they even have such a thick face skin to tell VW they may own 51% of Proton, but can't gain control of Proton because it's our pride! Come on pride my ass. You should be glad that VW is willing to take up all the Proton's shit and help you develop you "magnificent" products. VW is one of the best sellers and best produced car in the world and you should feel previlage VW is willing to cooperate with you

In the end, VW just pulled the plug on the deal and move somewhere else. Now who's the winner and who's the loser? Of course VW lose nothing if they don't partnering Proton here because sooner or later ASEAN country is consider something like tax free, and Malaysia government can't impose import duty on imported cars anymore. Then Proton will carry their pride and into the grave yard.

Bring your god damn pride with you to hell and if not because of government protection from international market's competition, I believe Proton would go burst long time ago. Anyway Proton go burst is better late than later anyhow!

Very true. When the Govt cant impose tax on imported cars, nobody will buy Proton cars anymore. At least not me!
