Protest for Fuel Price Hike

Heard there will be protest in lots of places regarding the recent fuel price hike.

Is this really work? Will the government listen and lowered the petrol price? Other than protest, is there other way we can let government know what's going through by us here?

Afterall I don't think the government will care anymore about their people, and they couldn't careany less either. All they think now is first to put the price up significantly, so government don't have to bare such heavy burden (Quite rightly so! Good for the future). But they also ignore the type of difficulties we are facing as well.

They could say they are paying millions and millions in rebate to people, and they would subsidise this and that! All these are just talk, and there isn't any real action taken yet. For example, how can those people who paid roadtax between 5th June and 30th June? When my friend asked about this upon renewing the roadtax, the answer he got is "I don't know nothing about this, and there's nothing on the system can do this at the moment"

From this is sounds like the idea of hiking the fuel price is only happened within the past few days, and no notice to postoffice regarding this refund just yet. But the actual I think is that they have been thinking to increase the fuel price gradually from January or February 08 onwards, but due to election is just around the corner, tey can't and no choice but to withhold the increase of fuel price.

Government's initial plan is to increase fuel price as soon as the election is over, but they never ever think of losing its 2/3 majority in the parliament, and even after election they still can't increase the fuel price. Now the crude oil price has hit USD135 and above, there's no choice, but to increase the fuel price.

I think Pak Lah knows too that increasing fuel price will surely anger the public, be it 10 cents or 100 cents. So he's taking a big gamble since he'll be the one to blame for hiking fuel price. In order to reduce the government's burden, he decided to increase it by more, more than everyone would imagined, yet left some space for subsidising, like government's still paying 30 cents per litre sort of thing, just to prove we are still using subsidised fuel!

It's not how much it rise that anger the people, it's the way he annouce it. He and the bloody Shahril Abdul Samad said the previous day fuel price will be increased by August, and people has to adjust their life style to take the hit of this. Just as everyone thought it will come in August, they just wait to see how much the increase would be.

Surprise to everyone, government announced the increase of 78 cents with immediate effect! This is lousy way of works, and the talks are all rubbish. But one thing is consistant throughout these 4 years plus is that Bodohwi never change his style. He always do something totally opposite to what he said! That's his pricipal so far. Bravo Bodohwi!

I think he is adapting 'easier said than done'.
