Budget Cut For Menteris

PM Pak Lah yesterday announce some measures to cut down unneccesary expenditures for all menteris. For these measures and reductions, government would save up to RM 2 billions per year. Wow! That's a lot of savings for government!

What sort of measures that could save government such a big budget? From the annoucement, it seems like this:

For Menteris and Deputy:
- 10% entertainment allowance reduction
- Subsidised overseas trip limited to ASEAN and max 7 days
- Limited number of people for overseas functions / conference trip
- Hotel rental in only allow during international conference / function

For Government departments:
- No shifting, renovation or additional offices
- Freeze on vehicle, furniture and PC purchases
- No uniforms / attires and souvenior gifts during any ceremony

From the above we would know how wasteful our government is in the past. That's also explain why our government has not enough budget every year. Figures shown are only those with record, but for those unidentified, like funds transferred to Balkis, land transactions, purchased of bankrupt company, and sale of multi-million worth company for 50K etc. Including all these the figure of 2bilion is just an icing on the cake!

For Pak Lah I think this is a wrong move to tell the public the details of it and now everyone know how wasteful menteris are, and where our hard earn tax money goes easily to. Maybe some would say he's being open, but for me he's a little stupid in this case. He already exposed some bad examples and behaviour of his sarbodinates and how could people have the confidence on him anymore?

At least he's doing this for good, and this will let us more about this badly corrupted government is no longer competent and it's time for a change after half a century in the office! Just get lost you B*** Nasional Government!
