Could haves

PM said SAPP's Yong Teck Lee put personal greed before Sabah, and said he could have played a vital role in state developments.

What does Pak Lah means could have? Isn't there be long enough time for PM to develop the state altogether? I'm not siding Yong nor Pak Lah, but just wonder why Pak Lah would said he could have play vital role now rather than before? One thing I wonder if BN has been treated these coalition parties right, would they have make such noises now?

From my point of view, probably Yong is an opportunist, he's looking after every possibility to try gaining personal glamour rather than state or party's progress. However if BN is treating them right, would they have taken this opportunity where the party is at its worst crisis for the last 50 years to throw out a vote of no confident against PM? If the party is happy with their bosses, would they do so to vented their dissatisfaction against the leaders?

So for Pak Lah to mentioned "He could have......" is an understatement, and it's just merely trying to black-mark the other party and find excuses for himself to cover up his unfairness!
