First Day of Road Tax Cash Rebate

Yesterday was the first day of the RM625 cash rebate for all certain vehicle owners. There'd been long queue since as early as 7:30am, where people started queuing at post offices waiting to "collect" their rebates.

And after a taxing and hectic day of giving out rebates, some one actually made a survey and calculations of how much have been "given" back to vehicle owners, and for this we must specially priced them and commented them for doing such a good job within such short space of time.

More than RM 116,000,000 in total had been "given" back to the people in one day, only the first day. We must commented government for preparing such big amount in cash within a few days' time so that people do not have to wait for the cash delivery or money order being sent to them later etc.

Since when have we seen this BN government work with such efficiency? On most previous cases, they would take longer than usual to settle some small little issue. And for this they managed to do it within such short period of time. Looks like the March 8th general election had finally woke them up now! Efficiency is one of the thing our nation need.

But after saying all those craps, I really wonder the level of trustworthiness of the amount mentioned. I don't know how many car owners we have in Malaysia in total, and I'm not sure how much it will be at all post offices that more than 200,000 people went to collect their rebates. This excludes those went to post offices for other matters.

Secondly what's the basis of them mentioned RM116 million given back to road users within the first day. Have they got enough spare cash to provide for the second day since it's falling on a Sunday. Bank don't operate during weekends, and I suppose no one will keep such big amount of cash in the post office over the weekend. Few other small little issues also bothering my believe in the figure published but the major one would be the mentioned.

Then something ring a bell to my ears. Is this another plot of the government to laundried out some amount of cash from government's account? Is there someone who's deliberately suggesting such act for rebates, so they would benefited from it? We, the public have no access to the government's account and we will never understand all entries into their record book. So by mentioning RM 116 millions "given back" to owners, they may use some of the amount to start covering up their bank account holes leaks since 8th of March.

I'm not sure how true my thinking and guessing will be, but certainly the possibility is there!
What you think?
